Challenge
Reveal the volume, reflections and patina of a gold watch without erasing the signs of time that give it its character.
Solution
A series alternating black and light backgrounds, full views and macro details, using several light sources to shape the metal and glass.
Process
Shot on a Canon EOS R5 Mark II at REDFOX Studio, with variations in light position and intensity, followed by Photoshop retouching: restrained sparkle effects, stand cutout and selective cleaning of the watch while preserving its imperfections.
Light in service of the patina
This personal project explores the character of a vintage Eterna Quartz. The lighting emphasises the shape of the case, the golden materials and the traces of time, deliberately preserved to tell the story of the watch.
Precise retouching without erasing its history
In Photoshop, I added a few sparkle effects, cut out the stand and cleaned the watch selectively. Essential scratches and irregularities remain visible to preserve its authenticity and vintage character.
